Edward Peterhoff - Teacher

Edward H. Peterhoff, 80, Hampton, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, after a 22-month battle with cancer.
Visitation is from 9 until 11 a.m. Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Private services will be held following visitation and burial is at Hampton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Edward was born Aug. 2, 1930, in Davenport, the son of Edward and Minnie Peterhoff. He married Jane Greening on Aug. 16, 1963, in Davenport. She died Dec. 5, 2001.
He received his master's in education and taught at United Township High School in East Moline. He retired as the chairman of the social studies department in 1989. He had been a tennis coach during his tenure there. Ed enjoyed listening to big band music, playing golf, bowling, reading and an occasional trip to the riverboat casinos.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Terrie and Glynn Johnson, Hampton, and Toni and George Hallas, Bettendorf; grandchildren, Tammy, Todd, Travis, Brooke, Trent, Mary Jane, Sherri and Kyle; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kolby, Dominic, Jakob, Talon and Tre; and a sister-in-law, Connie Lierman, Bethesda, Md.
