Roger Kirschenmann

Roger A. Kirschenmann, 53, of Moline, died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline, with the Pastor Jerry Helms officiating. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to an educational fund for his son, Tyler.

Roger was born Aug. 14, 1951, in Aberdeen, S.D., the son of Reinhold and Ione Pautsch Kirschenmann. He married Tara Whittington Sept. 6, 1986, in Davenport.

Roger was employed as a delivery man for Von Maur for 15 years and later worked as a courier for DHL Worldwide Express for 15 years. He and his wife have been the owners of Tastee Freez of Davenport for the past 11 years.

Roger enjoyed cycling, photography, NASCAR and collecting M & M novelties. He also enjoyed model trains and listening to music. He was an avid softball player and coach and was a New York Mets fan.

Survivors (and spouses) are wife, Tara, Moline; son, Tyler, Moline; father and stepmother, Reinhold and Margaret Kirschenmann, Moline; brothers, Dale (Annette) Kirschenmann, Colona, Terry (Kim) Kirschenmann, Moline; father- and mother-in-law, Frank and Jo Whittington Sr., Davenport; brother-in-law, Frank Whittington Jr., Davenport; three nephews, Frank Whittington III, Isaac and Kyle Kirschenmann; two nieces, Mercedes Bealer and Amy Kirschenmann; and special friends, Chuck and Sandee Wiedenhoeft. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1985.
