Pam Proesch (Rios) VIEW PROFILE

Funeral services for Pamela L. Rios, 58, of Silvis, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Entombment will be at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Rios died Friday, April 17, 2009, at her home surrounded by family and friends, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Pam Proesch was born March 4, 1951, in Davenport, the daughter of Norman and Jeanette Johnson Proesch. She married Umberto "Bert" Rios Sept. 6, 1969, at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline.

Unlike the vast majority of people, she loved her work. For the last 18 years, she had worked as a surgical tech nurse at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend. She was loved by all and will be missed.

Survivors include her husband, Bert Rios of Silvis; daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Randy Ledezma of East Moline, Toni and Jayme Massa of East Moline, Jennifer Rios and Bret Martel of East Moline; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Michele Rios of Moline; grandchildren, Damon, Dominic, Kobe and Kai Rios, Courtney, Tyler and Taner Ledezma, Bella and Maci Massa, Alex and Morgan Martel; her mother, Jeanette Proesch of Silvis; sisters and brother-in-law, Denise and Larry Blackwood of Cleveland, Michele Malone of Bettendorf; sisters-in-law, Gloria Sels of Silvis, Anita Cogdill of East Moline. She is preceded in death by her father, grandmother, mother-in-law, brother-in-law and her niece.

The family would like to thank the Recovery Care Nurses, Trinity Visiting Nurses, Dr. Costas Constantinou, Dr. Melinda Hass, and their staff and all her friends, for their wonderful care and support.
