Lillian Aukee

Lillian AuKee, 63, of Sarasota, Fla., died March 14, 2015. A memorial celebration of life for family and friends with lunch after will be held at Living Hope Community Church, 216 W. Hayes St., Davenport, at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16. Lillian's family invites everyone to feel free to share their stories. She was born Nov. 15, 1951, in Moline to Andrew and Moy AuKee. She lived in East Moline in her early years. As a teen, she liked music and regularly went to the Draught House in Davenport to listen to the Night People band. She was an avid Beatles fan and could tell you which Beatle sang which song by listening to their voice. Lillian graduated from United Township High School and attended Palmer Junior College to study journalism and communications and later obtained a certificate to become a certified travel counselor from McConnell Travel School in Minneapolis, Minn. After relocating to Florida, she became a professional travel consultant, and her last position was with Converse Premium Services in Sarasota. She was previously with AAA of Sarasota for 15 years and was a million dollar sales producer for seven consecutive years. As a result of her profession, she traveled extensively around the world to China, Thailand, Egypt, Europe, India, Italy, Sicily and New Zealand. She also went on numerous cruises, many of which were with family and friends. Her favorite pastimes were to walk the beach and to cook. Lillian was also very fond of animals and always had dogs as pets. She is survived by her partner, Alfred Miller, Sarasota? brothers, George, Moline, Reuben (Betty), Venice, Fla., and Perry, East Moline? niece, Lisa (Keith) Wells, Des Moines, Iowa? nephews, Andy, Venice, Nathan (Sara) and John Mark, East Moline? great­nieces, Cheryl and Tori Wells, Des Moines, Natalie and Penelope, East Moline? great­nephew, Ethan Wells, Des Moines? and her beloved Cairn terrier, Lucy. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harold.
