Debra M. "Deb" Thorington, 60, of Colona, died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Trinity Rock Island. Funeral services will be at 10:30AM Thursday, June 30th at Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Deb Thorington Memorial Fund.

Deb was born April 7, 1951 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Junior H. and Mary Jane (Downing) Bowker. She graduated from United Township High School in 1970. On July 23, 1977 she was united in marriage to Billy S. Thorington. Deb drove a school bus for special ed. students in the Riverdale School District for many years, retiring just this year. She had also been working as a kitchen manager at Sunset Lakes Resort, Joslin. She loved spending time with her grandkids and traveling to see her sister, Cyndi in Marietta, GA. Deb enjoyed camping and taking care of her horse, Dakota. She was a horse lover.

She is survived by her husband, Billy "T" Thorington, Colona; daughters, Amber (Ray) Pierce, East Moline, Tantha Thorington, Moline; father, Junior H. Bowker, Alpha; sister, Cyndi (Philip) Israel, Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Logan, Leanne and Nathan Pierce; niece, Kimberly Thurwanger and nephew, Kenny Thurwanger, both of Marietta, GA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jane Bowker.
