Services for Michael Hoffman, 52, of East Moline, are 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the building fund at St. Anne.
Michael died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.
He was born Feb. 15, 1951, in Moline, the son of Alvin and Geraldine DeFrates Hoffman. He graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University and was a paralegal in Atlanta, Ga., for many years.
Mike enjoyed writing poetry and anthologies. He also loved music and making CDs.
Survivors include his family, which he dearly loved: his father, Alvin, East Moline; a sister, Becky Hoffman, Jacksonville, Fla.; and brothers and sisters-in-law Dan and Pat Hoffman, Milan, James Hoffman, East Moline, Jerry and Teresa Hoffman, Silvis, and David Hoffman, Moline. His mother preceded him in death.

Mike was a good person. He lived in Atlanta for a long time until he fell ill, and was a friend to my wife my son and I. He was someone we could always count on and he is missed. His talents were many but he lived a quiet life sharing mostly with his family and close friends. I will keep a good thought for Michael for as long as I'm able. He has joined the company of many others for me as a memory.
